Barbara Anderson
COO, and Co-founder of i2B Capital, LLC
Barbara is responsible for the origination and underwriting of new transactions, having started and run three specialty commercial finance companies for major banks, she has the creativity and skill set to negotiate, underwrite and manage complex financial transactions. With 20 years of commercial banking experience and eight years of private equity experience, Barbara is uniquely qualified to assist entrepreneurs in executing their business plans with capital structures tailored to meet their specific needs.

Prior to starting i2B Capital with Larry, Barbara was Executive Managing Director at VION Receivable Investments, a large distressed receivable acquisition fund, owned by a New York-based private equity group. While at VION, Barbara developed new commercial asset acquisition programs for performing medical receivables, factoring companies, government and municipal receivables, and merchant cash advances. Barbara also assisted in the acquisition and structuring of distressed bank debt acquisitions and receivable portfolio bankruptcy bids. Her responsibilities included sourcing new leads, attending management presentations, assisting with underwriting and documentation as well as organizing and managing the due diligence and credit approval process. During her tenure at VION, she developed several new joint venture relationships to acquire and manage specialized receivable assets.

For ten years prior to joining VION in 2009, Barbara ran several specialized asset-based lending divisions for large commercial banks. She led the business development and underwriting activities, which included all internal and external marketing efforts, reviewing all new client transactions, structuring and pricing all new lending arrangements, supervising all new business underwriting and the documentation of all new loans. In addition, Barbara was an integral part of the start-up of each of these new divisions which included developing the overall business strategy, budgeting, recruitment, training, risk mitigation and overall compliance credit policy as well as banking regulations. Under Barbara’s management, her lending units won awards for Most Valuable Region, Fastest Growing Region and Region of the Year and she won individual awards for Sales Champion of the year and the President’s Award for Excellence.

During her career, Barbara also spent several years in the factoring industry assisting entrepreneurs in many different industries start and grow their small and medium sized companies. While at Allstate Financial Corporation, she assisted the Chief Financial Officer with a public equity offering and two refinancings of their senior secured debt. It was during this period that she gained her experience in capital raising and borrowing money. As part of the senior management team at a small entrepreneurial finance company, Barbara has direct knowledge of what it takes to properly capitalize a specialty finance company to put it on a successful track. She has been in i2B’s clients’ shoes.

Barbara is a magna cum laude and phi beta kappa graduate of Colgate University after which she completed the National Westminster Bank USA , 18-month, Commercial Loan Officer Development Program. Subsequently, she spent five years as a team leader in the Finance Companies Lending Division at NatWestUSA before taking a senior management position with one of her customers in the factoring business. She currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband of 24 years, Kevin, and their two children, Brian (19) and Megan (15).
